A Space For Yourself.

A time to relax. Something everyone needs occasionally. Whether it be for 10 minutes or 5 hours, it is very precious to us and somehow comes to an end. After a long day of working hard, we all deserve this time to unwind and calm down. I will be sharing with you a few ways this may help us as young Muslimas for your ideal relaxation method or maybe an inspiration to you. Relaxing to me, is when your mind and your surroundings are at peace. Sometimes, we live in a hectic world where we may not have the time to do this, we can become distressed or unhappy. There are many ways to relax and have downtime, some of which may help you, so I am going to share my thoughts on relaxation. For me, relaxation is when I am totally exhausted or need a break from hard work and recalling what I did and how it went to Allah. One of my best ways to relax. Keeping an account of our doings may keep our mind to peace, maybe, writing a recount of an exhausting day. Either way, Allah is aware that you are exhausted and connecting with him may resolve this as you are letting it out to him. Allah is Ar-Raheem (The Most Merciful). He will make your hard times easier for you as you remembered Him out of all things in this materialistic dunya. It is beneficial for this to be done after your Salah, as you are in the mindset of connecting and remembering Allah. Salah is the key to Jannah. An important reminder which will remain in our minds forever Insha’Allah. A small light- hearted conversation with Allah will make Him happy. He is As-Samee’ (The All-Hearing).

Another tip of mine is also related to the topic of keeping our Creator in mind. Reading Quran is also a beneficial way of relaxation. It will put your mind off all your concerns after an overtiring day. Also, it will create a connection with you and the valuable words of Allah. whether it be 2 pages a day or a Juz a day, it will take a few moments to show that you are aware of what Allah has said. reading Quran aloud brings peace to the mind, linking back to my interpretation of relaxing. The Malaikah (angels) were not given the virtue of reciting Quran. Therefore, they hasten to listen to its recitation from mankind.

My last tip I wanted to share is sleeping. Napping during the day is very relaxing to the mind as it helps after a hardworking day. Experts say that afternoon naps can benefit people of any age by clearing out the jumble daily thoughts built up in our minds. Linking this to Islam, it is sunnah to nap (after dhuhr). These are my tips on relaxation with downtime, and I hope to inspire you with my tips. Any good deed you do now, big or small, it is held accountable for the akhirah, so make every second count!

Humans and androids flood the streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague threatens the population. With a mix of humans and androids, this book ticks all the boxes for books that help you relax and come away from the stress of your daily life. Even if you aren’t stressed and perhaps want a good gripping tale to read, this book should definitely be checked out... I have to admit that at first, I wasn’t sold because of the fact that it sounded too ‘fantastical’ and a little ‘childish’ and although this book doesn’t particularly have a storyline that is simple and straightforward, its much different to a regular or “cliché” sci-fi fantasy book. It brings you to a completely different realm which is pretty hard to come out of I Wasn’t much of a sci-fi or a fantasy reader and honestly, I still avoid those genres, but after coming across this book, I couldn’t stay away. After reading the first book, I doubt you’ll sleep on the rest of the books in the series. It’s my definition of a book that you ‘can’t put down’
