It sounds like the primary objective of this question is to understand the importance and significance of the brotherhood of humanity in general and the Muslim brotherhood in particular in our pathetic and precarious modern world. No time in their 1400 Islamic history, Muslims have been humiliated, disgraced and demeaned as of today. Today, more than 2.2 billion Muslims live in the modern world and geographically they occupy a large part of the world across the world. Almighty Allah has blessed the Muslim world with immense rich

human and natural resources. Oil and Gas reserves that Muslim world possess is more than enough to build a strong Islamic world. Moreover, it is reported that

the percentage of the young population age (15-35) is higher among Muslim countries than many non-Muslim countries today. Despite all these rich human and natural resources, today, Muslim countries are at the bottom of all development indices. Muslim contribution to the world economy, education, science, technology, research and modern development is minimal and meagre in many fields. Today, 2.2 Muslims are voiceless in the modern world. Politically Muslims are powerless in the modern world. The Muslim world leaders do not have any say or influence in important regional or international geopolitical matters. Muslims in many parts of the world have been victimised, penalised, enslaved and butchered in days in thousands and yet, the Muslim leaders are powerless to stop all those genocides and mass murders. A cursory examination of the pathetic conditions of Muslims across the world will tell us much more about the challenges, problems and weaknesses of Muslims today. It is beyond the scope of this article to exam those issues here but, I have briefly scanned through the overall picture of the modern Muslim world today to underscore the importance of brotherhood in the Muslim world today than at any time in Islamic history.

Under this pathetic condition, promoting brotherhood among all Muslims is imperative to meet the challenges of existential threats that Muslim communities face in many countries today. Shia- Sunni divide or Salafi- Non- Salafi divide or any other sectarian divide would be seriously detrimental to the Muslim world. We should envision and envisage the bigger picture of the entire Muslim world today to understand the importance of the Muslim brotherhood among Muslims today. It does not make sense to engage in petty theological and dogmatical arguments and disputes when the Muslim world is engulfed in many modern challenges and problems that a post-existential threat to its existence in many

Muslim regions.

Islam does not merely promote Brotherhood among Muslims alone rather it promotes a universal brotherhood among all humanity. No time, human

brotherhood is shattered among nations as of today. Today, the West and East are divided. The recent Russian and Ukraine war vividly illustrates this divide between the West and the East. It is feared that this Russian and Ukraine war could lead to a third world war if it is not stopped sooner. Humanity lives in a precarious world and encounters many challenges. The list of challenges that humanity face today is countless, and humanity is facing an existential threat today than at any time in the past. Ecological and environmental threats, global warming,

pollution, food and water insecurity, AI threats, threats from nuclear weapons, threats from biological and chemical weapons, ecosystem collapse, pandemics, floods, natural disasters, wars and conflicts and there are many other threats that humanity faces today. When the humanity encounters all these dangerous threats, it is very much important that the humanity promotes a sense of universal unity and brotherhood to encounter all these challenges. East and West divide is no longer viable and appropriate in this modern virtual and digital world.

Humanity must work hand in hand to protect the planet earth and its natural resources. The ecological and environmental impacts affect every human being whether he or she lives in North Pole or the south pole. Likewise, man-made wars and conflicts affect the lives of humanity in one way or another. No country could single handedly meet these global challenges and it is in the interest of entire humanity to work collectively to meet these challenges otherwise, the entire

humanity will suffer from all these problems.

For all these reasons I have outlined briefly it is imperative, we promote a sense of universal human brotherhood among all humanity without any discrimination or prejudice. Humanity must stand together to meet all these existential threats. No racial, linguistic, ethnic, religious, nationalistic or regional geographical or political divide should stand between this goal of promoting universal brotherhood and these challenges. According to Arnold Toynbee no religion has any meaningful mechanism and methodology to unite entire humanity under one

ideology as Islam does. Muslim community has been blessed with divine guidance and a beautiful theology that unites all humanity under one meaningful ideology. That ideology of Tawheed unites entire humanity under one umbrella, and nothing can unite entire humanity beyond their races, languages, nationalities, regionalism, tribalism, caste system, and skin colour except the ideology of Islam.
