The Quiet Miracle of Barakah
Assalamu Alaikum,
Today, I want to spare a few moments of your day to tell you about the Quiet Miracle of Barakah so
you can become a better person in the future, In sha Allah. So Bismillah, let’s start.
First of all, let’s start with understanding what Barakah actually means; according to the Quran, it
means blessing. If you don’t understand what that means, in simple terms, Allah gives you luck. You
can gain this luck, or you can lose it.
To gain it, you can do the following:
Punctual Prayers (Salah): Pray on time for the five prayers. This is also a pillar of Islam.
Gratitude (Shukr): Have gratitude by saying, for example, Alhamdulillah.
Halal Earnings: Earn Halal money. That means no gambling or selling Haram things.
Reciting the Quran: This gives you rewards. That’s a blessing right there.
Waking Early: This is Sunnah. Not only that, it enables the opportunity to pray Fajr.
Giving Charity (Sadaqah): This is one of the five pillars of Islam, not only Barakah.
However, there are some ways you can lose it, such as not paying off debts or breaking promises
regarding financial matters, which can result in decreasing your Barakah percentage. The loss of
barakah is associated with actions and behaviours that go against Islamic rules, particularly regarding
financial dealings, worship, and personal conduct.
Key ways in which barakah may be lost include:
Earning Haram Income: Consuming or engaging in transactions involving prohibited (Haram) sources
of income, such as interest (Riba), dishonesty, or unethical business practices, can remove blessings
from wealth.
Not praying: Failing to perform vital acts of worship like the five daily prayers (Salah) can lead to a
loss of barakah in other aspects of life.
Lack of gratitude: Constantly complaining and failing to say shukr to Allah for blessings is linked to a
decrease in luck.
Love of wealth: Islam discourages obsession with wealth, which is considered a trait that removes
barakah.
Breaking family ties: Severing or neglecting relationships with relatives (silat ar-rahim) is a barrier to
receiving blessings and increased sustenance.
Laziness: A lack of effort in seeking a lawful livelihood and wasting time are seen as hindrances to
success and barakah.
Neglecting charity (Zakat and Sadaqah): Withholding obligatory charity (Zakat) or voluntary charity
(Sadaqah) can prevent the purification of wealth and the flow of blessing.
Saying Astaghfirullah may increase Barakah.
Ok, that’s going to be it. So Jazakallahu Khairan for reading this, and I hope this will change your life.
Assalamu Alaikum, see you soon.
